MESA COUNTY – One motorcyclist is dead and three others are injured following a crash just east of Palisade Saturday.
Colorado State Patrol says multiple motorcycles were headed east on Highway 65 – about two miles east of Interstate 70 – when one driver lost control during a turn and hit a guardrail.
Both the driver and his passenger were ejected. The driver, identified only as a 55-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 52-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. She is expected to survive.
Another motorcycle in the immediate vicinity also crashed. The 37-year-old driver sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries, CSP says.
One lane of eastbound Highway 65 was closed during the investigation.
The names of the victims have not yet been released.
