FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Two people and a dog were killed in a house fire in Fort Collins Saturday night, Poudre Fire Authority said.
Firefighters said around 6:50 p.m. Saturday, they were called to a fire in a home in the 4000-block of South Taft Hill Road. When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from all of the windows and flames in the northeast part of the home. They went inside and found a dog who had died, along with two people who were injured.
Both victims were rescued from the home and taken to the hospital. One victim died of their injuries Sunday morning, firefighters said. The fire department said Tuesday that the other victim also died. Their names have not yet been released.
Investigators determined the fire was caused by smoking materials with use of oxygen.
