COMMERCE CITY - One person was arrested and another was transported to the hospital after a fire completely destroyed a Commerce City building, sending plumes of smoke into the air that was visible for miles.
A spokesperson for the Commerce City Police Department says the fire was first reported shortly after 11:45 a.m. at a building on 5460 Colorado Boulevard. The structure houses a company that makes cabinets.
Police say work was being done on the roof shortly before the fire started, and that something could have ignited.
It took an hour to get the blaze under control.
The unidentified person taken into custody faces a charge for interference. They were released on a summons, Commerce City Police said.
The condition of the person transported was not known.
No one else was injured in the blaze, which fully engulfed the building.
