AURORA - 9NEWS received more than 1,000 pieces of feedback regarding a 9Wants to Know report about the effort to repeal the pit bull ban in Aurora.

On the 9NEWS Facebook page, commenters overwhelmingly want the ban lifted and blamed bad owners when a dog bites or attacks someone.

"Implement a ban for stupid owners instead," viewer Susanne Wolfe wrote.

"Thank you for being neutral," viewer Karen Bjorn wrote.

But not everyone was happy with the report. Some felt the story skewed more against pit bulls.

"It came across as a very biased news story," Melissa Wooten said on Facebook. "…heavily weighted towards the anti-pit bull argument."

Some commenters took issue with the interview of Colleen Lynn, the founder of dogsbite.org, who is quite critical of the pit bull breeds.

"Lost all credibility and integrity the second you used Colleen Lynn," Dan Adams of Indiana said. Adams called Lynn's site hate propaganda.

Lynn emailed 9NEWS and wasn't happy with our report either. While she has yet to explain why she didn't like the report, she said in an email she would never do a television interview again.

Voters in Aurora will decide if the ban on pit bulls should be lifted on Nov. 4.
