El Jebel — At Crown Mountain Park in El Jebel, Executive Director Rebecca Wagner is about to open Colorado’s first motion wellness playground for seniors.
“It’s something new and different and I think we will see these pop up throughout the state of Colorado,” Wagner said.
The playground features eight pieces of fitness equipment, like a bicep curl, triceps extension, chest press, leg curl and leg extension.
All of it is designed for the more than 6,000 seniors living in the Roaring Fork area. There will be an official opening celebration on July 19, with a ribbon cutting scheduled at 11:30 a.m.
Wagner believes the new equipment will help people play a lot longer in the Colorado outdoors.
“We want to try and keep people healthy so they can continue to ski into their 90’s,” she said.
