DENVER — United Airlines said late Tuesday it is making sweeping changes in its ticket change-fee policies as the COVID-19 crisis spreads around the world.
United said it will waive change fees for any ticket bookings — domestic and international — made between March 3 and March 31. The new waiver applies to all tickets, all fare types, all destinations, all points-of-sale and all travel dates available for sale.

Additionally, United said if a customer decides to cancel a flight, he or she can retain the value of the ticket to be applied to a new ticket with no change fees for travel up to 12 months from the original ticket issue date.
As has been the case throughout the COVID-19 crisis, United’s evolving policies are subject to adjustment as the situation rapidly unfolds.
