DENVER — A radio DJ with KS 107.5 FM wrote on Twitter Monday evening that people should have "one last party" before bars temporarily closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Colorado.

DJ Squizzy Taylor has since backed off his plan.

"Soooooo The City Basically Closes Tomorrow Which Means The Clubs Are Over ...Let’s Have One Last Party! **** it! Give Me A Second!" he told his social media followers. "We Gotta Eat Bro..The Bills Don’t Stop. And I Just Got Booked If We Being Honest..I’m Suppose To Turn Down Some Money In A Time Like This?"

When a follower asked for the location, he replied, "Setting it up now!"

Several people scolded the DJ online.

"[What] if one of the neighbors goes and comes back to our apartment building what happens then? Virus lives on surfaces for 3 days. You’re really putting the community at risk for a ******* party. Grow the **** up," one person wrote.

He responded: "Ok. Thanks for the info! Pray For Us!"

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock announced earlier in the day that bars and restaurants would close to customers except for drive-through and pick-up orders. Colorado Gov. Jared Polis announced a statewide restriction, as well, in response to Colorado's growing number of COVID-19 cases.

A source familiar with the situation told 9NEWS Monday night that the DJ is no longer organizing an event. The station's owner, Entercom, canceled all events due to the spread of the novel coronavirus.

DJ Squizzy Taylor also sent a new tweet a few hours after the original one, saying he cannot be a part of large events in Denver.
