NORTHGLENN, Colo. — The Global Village Academy in Northglenn will be closed on Friday due to a threat the school received Thursday evening, according to a letter sent home to parents.
The letter says that the Northglenn police department is investigating the threat, but did not give any other details about what the threat was.
It also does not mention if the threat has been deemed credible or not.
Administration chose to close the school, "since the safety of our students and staff is our first priority, and out of an abundance of caution," the letter reads.
If you know anything about the threat, you are asked to reach out to either Northglenn Police or Nicole Caldwell, principal of the school, at ncaldwell@gvaschools.org.
The letter also reminds parents that no one will be at Global Village Academy Northglenn on Friday to answer phone calls.
The Global Village Academy is a K-8 international charter school with campuses in Aurora, Colorado Springs, Douglas County, Fort Collins and Northglenn. Their website says they focus on "learning through language and culture."
The Northglenn Academy is located at 555 W. 112th Ave.
