DENVER — When companies look to expand or relocate, the quality of local schools can play an important role.

Middle schools, in particular, offer an important transition from the basics of elementary school to the intense college preparatory education of high school.

For a ranking of the top public and charter middle schools in the Denver area, we turned to Pittsburgh-based education and neighborhoods site Niche.com. Niche bases its grades and rankings on multiple factors, including data from the U.S. Department of Education, the National Center for Education Statistics and information provided by students and parents.
