KUSA — Teacher walkouts will impact students at Colorado's two largest school districts next week.
The announcements from Jeffco Public Schools and Denver Public Schools come the day after dozens of teachers wearing red protested at the state Capitol.
Jeffco Public Schools told parents in a letter distributed Tuesday afternoon that it will cancel class on April 26 due to the planned teacher protest.

In the letter, Superintendent Dr. Jason Glass said he received word that many teachers and staff members have already asked for April 26 off to go to the capitol and rally lawmakers about K-12 funding and retaining their Public Employees’ Retirement Association benefits.
Denver teachers will protest the same thing -- but the next day, April 27, according to a letter sent to parents. Class won't be canceled in the Mile High City that day, the district said, but there will be an early release.
Monday's so-called Day of Action canceled class at the much-smaller Englewood School District.
