KUSA - Monday marks a new school year for more than 92,000 Denver Public School students.
For the next two days, DPS will host its First Day of School events to commemorate the start of the school year.
Lt. Gov. Joseph A. Garcia and Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock will make an appearance at various DPS school events.
Families have a chance to meet members of the DPS leadership team and government officials to discuss the importance of academics.
