BOULDER (AP) - Music is returning to the University of Colorado's Folsom Field for the first time since 2001.

The Daily Camera reports that university athletic officials announced Monday that the football field will kick off its revived music calendar with two concerts by Dead & Company, a band that features three of the four surviving members of the Grateful Dead plus John Mayer, on July 2 and 3.

The stadium hasn't hosted a band since a 2001 concert by the Dave Matthews Band that was fined $15,000 for playing past curfew.

The fields turn as a concert venue largely died down after the early 80s, with only three bands taking the field after a noisy Van Halen show in 1986.
