Everything from animals working in hospitals, nursing homes, prison programs and even in the criminal justice system with victim advocates to our social work students traveling to Kenya twice a year to help with anti-poaching initiatives and also with local communities to teach them about the benefit of the human-animal bond.
In May, students along with veterinarians from Denver vaccinated over 3,000 animals against rabies by working in conjunction with the African Network fro Animal Welfare.
The Institute’s Executive Director, Philip Tedeschi is world renowned for the work being done in the field of animal-assisted interactions. He visited 9NEWS on Monday.
