Gary Harshfield testified at the hearing Thursday, saying he was worried when Reichardt didn't show up for work. He then decided to go looking for him.
Detectives say White confessed to killing Reichardt but claims it was an accident and that it happened when the two men were cleaning and playing with guns.
An Aurora Police Department detective testified that White told her he spent an hour and half cleaning up shell casings, other potential evidence and his fingerprints from Reichardt's house after he was shot.
The detective will continue her testimony on Friday.
White confessed to killing five women and burying their bodies in several places in Colorado, police say. Two bodies were found in the backyard of White's former home.
