DENVER — The Denver Art Museum (DAM) has joined a growing list of museums and cultural centers that offer $1 admission to recipients of the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP).
Eligible recipients can receive $1 general admission per person for up to 10 people. To get the discount, all visitors need to do is show their SNAP debit card at the museum’s welcome desk.
The move is an effort to give the Denver community as a whole greater access to the arts, according to the museum. You can see a selection of the museum's current offerings, including local artist Jonathan Saiz's new 10,000-piece art exhibit, by clicking/tapping this link.
The discounted tickets are part of a partnership with Denver Human Services (DHS). Here’s a look at other Denver area museums that offer discounted admission for SNAP recipients:
- Children's Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus
- Denver Botanic Gardens - York Street and Chatfield Farms
- Denver Museum of Nature and Science
- Denver Zoo (discount only available August 1 - April 30)
- History Colorado Center
- Wings Over the Rockies
- Butterfly Pavilion (discount is $2 per person)
Denver Art Museum is located at 100 W 14th Avenue near Civic Center Park. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for Friday's when the hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
