DENVER — Two of the three people arrested in connection with a homicide in Denver last March pleaded guilty this week.
The shooting happened on March 20, 2022, on South Zenobia Street. The victim, 28-year-old Frankie Sanchez was taken to the hospital, where he died on March 23.
Jon Sulaica, now 19, was arrested by Arvada Police Department officers on suspicion of first-degree murder in the shooting, according to Denver Police. He initially faced first-degree murder charges but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of second-degree murder and a count of attempted murder on Tuesday.
Lance DeLeon, also 19, was arrested in the case and was also being held for investigation of first-degree murder. He pleaded guilty on Thursday to a second-degree murder charge, court records show. Four other counts were dismissed as part of the plea.
Both are set to be sentenced May 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Denver District Court.
The third suspect, Isaiah Hansen, is due in court Friday afternoon.
