DENVER — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a woman who was killed in a shooting earlier this month, the Denver Police Department said.
Police said the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. March 2 in the 2700 block of West Iliff Avenue. The victim, later identified as 39-year-old Desiree Terrazas, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said that James Sanchez, 31, was arrested March 7 on first- and second-degree murder charges in connection with the shooting. Police said the homicide was domestic violence-related.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to submit tips online to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. Tips can also be called in at 720-913-7867.
Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
