DENVER — A 43-year-old woman was identified Wednesday as the victim of a deadly shooting in Denver last week.
Denver Police said around 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 2 that officers were investigating the shooting near the intersection of South Federal Boulevard and West Ohio Avenue in southwest Denver near Lakewood.
The victim, identified as Shayna Johnson, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner. Her death was ruled a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
Police did not share any suspect information or additional details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
