COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Police are looking for a woman accused of killing two of her children and injuring a third, according to a release Wednesday from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
In the early morning of Tuesday, Dec. 19, police responded to a 911 call about a burglary in the 5300 block of Palomino Ranch Point, according to the release.
When officers arrived at the home, they found a 9-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy dead inside, the department said. A woman and another girl, 11, were also there — both of them had "sustained injuries" and were treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital, per the release.
Police identified the woman as the mother of all three children, 35-year-old Kimberlee Singler.
The homicide unit for Colorado Springs Police later assumed the investigation and concluded "the initial report of a burglary was unfounded," the department said.
On Dec. 26, investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Singler on the following charges:
- Four counts of first-degree murder
- Two counts of attempted first-degree murder
- Three counts of child abuse
- One count of first-degree assault
Officers started searching for Singler when the warrant was issued but have not been able to locate her yet, according to the release — she was last seen Saturday, Dec. 23.
The court set a $10,000,000 bond.
A spokesperson for the department said Singler's 11-year-old daughter "is safe and accounted for in the Colorado Springs area and is being cared for."
