Burglars use car to break into Wheat Ridge vape shop

The burglary happened in the early morning hours on Wednesday in Wheat Ridge, according to police.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — Police are looking for three people who broke into a smoke and vape shop in Wheat Ridge last week.

The burglary happened at Wadsworth Boulevard and West 39th Avenue in the early morning hours Feb. 7, police said.

In a post on X, the Wheat Ridge Police Department shared surveillance video and video given to investigators from a witness.

The video shows the suspects ram a blue Hyundai Elantra into the vape shop's front window and door, breaking the door's frame. Two thieves are then seen knocking in the door's window and running into the shop.

Surveillance video shows the two thieves load stolen goods into the car's trunk, while a getaway driver tries to back the car onto the curb. The thieves made off with dozens of cartridges and equipment from the vape shop, police said.

The burglary took less than five minutes, according to police.

Descriptions of suspects were not immediately released. Anyone with information on the burglars is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or submit a tip online.
