DENVER — A 54-year-old man is wanted in connection with a late December shooting in which two men died and two others were injured.
The Denver Police Department (DPD) said Matthew L. Johnson is wanted for investigation of murder and aggravated assault. Johnson is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds, police said.
The shooting occurred outside of The Viking, a bar on West Colfax Avenue between Xavier and Wolff streets, south of Sloan's Lake, around 1:30 a.m. Dec. 30.
Brandon Houston, 41, and Jason Lewis, 38, were killed in the shooting. Police said there was a disturbance before shots were fired.
Anyone with information on Johnson's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tips can also be submitted online at metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
