Victim shot during street robbery has died

A man who was wounded in a shooting that was the result of an apparent street robbery in the Baker neighborhood last week has died from his injuries, according to Denver Police.

DENVER — A man who was shot during in an apparent street robbery last Thursday has died from his injuries, according to a tweet from Denver Police.

Earlier, police said the Oct. 18 shooting in the Baker neighborhood near 1st and Bannock stemmed from an apparent street robbery. The victim was taken to the hospital that night with serious injuries but died several days later, according to police.

The victim was identified by the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner as 25-year-old Thomas Steen. He died of a gunshot wound to the head.

Police did not provide any information about potential suspects in the case.

Another shooting was reported by DPD earlier in the evening of Oct. 18 on the 2300 block of Welton Street in the city's Five Points neighborhood. No suspect information was available from that shooting. According to police, that victim also had serious injuries.

Also in Denver on Oct. 18, three pedestrians were hit by a vehicle that reportedly took off, police said. According to DPD, the vehicle involved is likely a silver or grey SUV. Two victims in that crash have serious injuries while a third has minor injuries.
