LONE TREE, Colo. — A man is wanted on suspicion of murder after another man was found dead in his car in Lone Tree earlier this month.
James Neal, 23, is wanted in connection to the death of Michael Lohmeier, 73, of Centennial, according to Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
About 12:25 p.m. on Nov. 4, Lohmeier was found dead in his car, a 2009 Toyota Highlander, parked in the 8500 block of South Yosemite Street. Police said it appears Lohmeier died of a gunshot wound, and his death is being investigated as a homicide.
Neal is wanted on suspicion of first-degree murder, motor vehicle theft and possession of a weapon by a previous offender, according to court documents. Crime Stoppers said he is currently at-large and was last seen in the Colorado Springs area. Neal is considered armed and dangerous.
According to court records, Neal pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree assault in El Paso County District Court in November 2020. He was sentenced to three years in the Department of Corrections but was given credit for the 162 days he had already spent in jail.
Neal was released onto parole on April 12 of this year and was set to be released from parole on April 12, 2025, according to a Department of Corrections spokesperson.
