Longmont Police search for man suspected in series of rooftop burglaries

Police in Longmont say William Caile is believed to be connected to six burglaries along Main Street.

LONGMONT, Colo. — Longmont Police are looking for a man suspected in six rooftop burglaries in the city over the last couple of months, the Longmont Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post Thursday.

Longmont Police have identified William Caile, 31, who is believed to be connected to six incidents along Main Street in Longmont. A warrant had been issued for his arrest.

Longmont detectives have been investigating the series of burglaries over the last four months, since they were initially reported to patrol, according to the post.

Caile is believed to be connected to incidents in the following locations, each of which have been burglarized twice:

• 1100 block of Main Street

• 400 block of Main Street

• 1200 block of South Main Street

One business, Black Kraken Tattoo on Main Street in Longmont, told 9NEWS on Wednesday that they were still trying to get back on their feet.

The shop owner told 9NEWS whoever broke into the shop cut a hole in the AC unit on the roof, the HVAC, dropped down through the ceiling, then proceeded to use tools to break through the wall and break into the business next door.

Longmont Police ask that anyone who believes their business may have been a victim of these rooftop robberies please contact Detective Philip Schlagel at (303) 651-8543.
