PARACHUTE, Colo. — Nearly three years after a man was fatally shot inside his vehicle, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday that they've identified and arrested a suspect in his death.

On May 11, 2021, Wayne Moore, 60, was found bleeding and unresponsive inside his vehicle on U.S. 6 west of Parachute. According to the sheriff's office, he had been shot multiple times.

Over the next weeks, months and years, investigators worked to find who was responsible. John Michael Worley, 30, was recently identified as a suspect.

On May 10, almost three years to the day from when Moore was killed, investigators gathered enough evidence to obtain a warrant for Worley's arrest. He was arrested later that day without incident.

He faces charges of first-degree murder, stalking and tampering with physical evidence. He's being held on a $5 million bond and is due in court next week.
