WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A man has been arrested after a deadly stabbing in Westminster on Friday.
According to a release from the Westminster Police Department (WPD) officers were dispatched to a report of a stabbing in the 10300 block of 107th Circle at around 7:40 p.m. Friday.
WPD said when they got there, they found a man with an apparent stab wound.
Officers began performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, according to WPD. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
The release said the suspect, 36-year-old Wesley Lougee, was located soon after the attack and arrested.
Officers learned from initial reports that Lougee and the victim were in the garage of a home when Lougee stabbed him, according to WPD, then ran from the scene.
Lougee is being held on a charge of first-degree murder, the release said.
The victim's name will be released by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
