Pedestrian seriously injured in hit-and-run on I-25, suspect arrested

Police said at 3:28 a.m. Saturday officers were investigating the crash on I-25 in the area of 50th Avenue.

DENVER — A 30-year-old woman was arrested in connection to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on Interstate 25 early Saturday morning.

Denver Police posted at 3:28 a.m. on social media that officers were investigating the crash on I-25 in the area of 50th Avenue.

The pedestrian was crossing the interstate from east to west when they were hit by a driver who left the scene, police said.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police said the driver was arrested by a different agency and is being held for investigation of vehicular assault.

The suspect was identified as a 30-year-old woman. Alcohol intoxication is believed to be a factor and is being investigated, police said.

The final determination on the filing of any potential charges will be decided by the Denver District Attorney's Office.
