DENVER – The National Western Stock Show and Rodeo says it wasn't aware of the sting that led to two arrests and the rescue of six juveniles who were involved in a human trafficking operation that was active a week before and during the yearly event that draws thousands to Denver.

According to a news release from the stock show, none of the arrests or alleged criminal activity took place on the show's grounds.

The FBI did not indicate where the sex trafficking operations took place when the information was first released on Monday.

"We appreciate law enforcement focusing on major events like ours to protect staff, guests and visitors of Denver so that arrests are made to eliminate these horrific trafficking rings," Paul Andrews, the president and CEO of the National Western Stock Show, said in a news release.

This year, the stock show had its second highest ever attendance, with 682,539 people making a trip to the 16 day event.

No additional information about the sex sting was released by the FBI, which handled the investigation.
