Help identify the 'Snakebit Bandit' suspected in 5 bank robberies

A suspect in five Denver bank robberies named the "Snakebit Bandit" is wanted by the FBI and Denver Police – they need the public's help to identify him.

DENVER — A suspect in five Denver bank robberies this year has been dubbed the "Snakebit Bandit" by law enforcement – and they need the public's help to identify him.

He earned the bandit nickname because during the robberies, he wore a hat with a snake on it that reads, "Don't Tread on Me." The man was also seen wearing a hat with a picture of the Colorado flag on the front and a sweatshirt hoodie that reads, "Fugitive Recovery Agent."

The FBI and Denver Police said they were searching for a man they described as having a thin build, and is approximately 5 feet, 7 inches to 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds.

He is suspected in five bank robberies:

  • March 9, 4:42 p.m., Bank of the West, 2050 S. Downing St.
  • Feb. 16, 4:36 p.m., First Citizen’s Bank, 3611 E. 1st Ave.
  • Feb. 10, 4:27 p.m., Bank of the West, 2 Steele St.
  • Feb. 2, noon, Huntington Bank, 2084 S. Broadway
  • Jan. 14, 1 p.m., US Bank, 3100 S. Sheridan Blvd.

Law enforcement asked the public to look for anyone who matches the man's description – paying special attention to anyone similar who recently changed their spending habits or discussed coming into money suddenly.
