Man shoots suspected intruder in Commerce City home, police say

Police said the shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at a home on East 64th Avenue.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — A man told officers he shot and killed an intruder after he was attacked inside his home overnight, Commerce City police said

Police said the shooting happened around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at a home on East 64th Avenue. Police said the resident told officers he was injured in an attack inside his home, and that he shot an unknown intruder. 

Police said the body of the suspected intruder was found inside the home. The Adams County coroner identified that person as 36-year-old Izak Daniels.

The resident suffered serious injuries in the attack, police said. Their investigation is ongoing.
