Woman killed in Sheridan shooting identified

The victim was found dead in the 3400 block of West Dill Street in Sheridan early Thursday morning.

ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — A suspect was arrested after a woman was killed in a domestic violence-related shooting early Thursday morning, the Sheridan Police Department said. 

The woman was found dead in the 3400 block of West Dill Road, which is near West Belleview Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

Police said around 11:30 a.m. Thursday that a suspect was arrested in connection with the shooting. Roy Jones, 53, was arrested in Adams County and is being held on a first-degree murder charge, police said.

On Friday, the Arapahoe County coroner's office identified the victim as 52-year-old Theresa Cordova and said that she was shot at her residence.
