Rita Gutierrez-Garcia’s family says they want to find her peace and they’re hoping that can happen through a new search.
The family is forming a search party Saturday for the missing mom of three at Rabbit Mountain. This is a location where police believe her body might be.
Longmont police said they believe her remains could be in a remote area near the Peak to Peak Highway, Rabbit Mountain, or anywhere from Rollins Pass to Jamestown.
Gutierrez-Garcia hasn't been seen since the night of St. Patrick's Day after partying with friends.
Police have released the name of a suspect in the case, Juan Jose Figueroa, Jr. He is currently behind bars facing sexual assault charges in another case.
Police said Figueroa left town and went to Mexico a few days after Gutierrez-Garcia’s disappearance.
They said there's physical evidence that Gutierrez-Garcia was in his white Chevy two-door-pickup truck at one point, but investigators couldn’t say much more.
Police have said they no long believe Gutierrez-Garcia is alive.
Gutierrez-Garcia’s family will meet Saturday at Rabbit Mountain Open Space in Longmont at 7:30 a.m. for a search. Anyone is welcome. The Longmont Police department is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads them to Gutierrez-Garcia’s remains or leads to an arrest.
There is also a prayer vigil for Gutierrez-Garcia on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Thompson Park.
