Suspect arrested in apparent road rage shooting that killed man

Denver Police said they arrested the suspect, a man, Friday night. He reportedly stayed at the scene after the shooting.

DENVER — A man is in custody after a deadly shooting took place Friday evening in Lower Downtown Denver, which police believe was a road rage incident.

The Denver Police Department (DPD) tweeted just after 5 p.m. Friday that they were investigating a shooting in the area of Park Avenue and Wazee Street, a block east of Coors Field.

The victim, a man, was transported to the hospital, where he later died. He has been identified as Shane Warn, 45.

Police said the shooting appears to be the result of a road rage incident involving two drivers. The man who shot the victim stayed at the scene.

In their initial reporting of the shooting, police said no arrests had been made. On Saturday, the department reported the man was taken into custody.

A spokesperson for the department said the arrest took place Friday night.

Outbound Park Avenue was closed at Blake Street while officers investigated.

Police did not share additional information about the victim or the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
