Reward offered in extreme vandalism case

Damage, mostly due to water, is estimated at $175,000. They caused another $50,000 to personal property inside the home.

A reward is now being offered in connection with a case of extreme vandalism in Jefferson County.

A year ago this month someone broke into a home in the 8700 block of South Jellison Court. The owners were on vacation so deputies can only say the damage occurred sometime between April 1 and April 10, 2016.

Nothing was stolen from the home, however the criminals caused extensive damage to its interior. Damage, mostly due to water, is estimated at $175,000. They caused another $50,000 to personal property inside the home.

Now Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking for anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the area, or has any knowledge of this crime to call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612 or Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867) reference case number 16-8974.
