DENVER — The Denver Police Department is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that will help solve a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning.
The shooting was reported in the 5100 block of Morrison Road in Denver's Westwood neighborhood about 6 a.m.
In a tweet, Denver police said one victim was located but that the extent of their injuries was unknown. Police said in a follow-up tweet shortly before 10 a.m. that the incident was being investigated as a homicide. No suspect information has been released.
The victim has since been identified as 27-year-old Michael Magallanes, according to the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner.
About a mile away, Lakewood police were investigating a shooting and assault that left one person dead and three others with injuries.
DPD said they can’t say for sure if the shootings were related, they’re still looking into it.
