LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A man was killed and a 17-year-old boy was injured in a shooting Tuesday evening in Lakewood, police said.
The Lakewood Police Department said the shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. at a fourplex in the 1600 block of Kipling Street. The man died on the scene, police said. The teenage boy was taken to the hospital. There was no word on his current condition.
The shooter left the scene headed northbound on Kipling, police said. No description of the shooter or vehicle was immediately available.
On Thursday, Lakewood Police identified the man who died as Francisco Martinez, 24, of Edgewater.
The shooting appears to be "an isolated incident," and police do not believe there is any danger to the public. They said they're still working to determine whether the shooter and victims knew one another.
