PD: Man who assaulted, strangled ex-wife on the run

Police are looking for a 37-year-old man who they say dragged his ex-wife into her home and violently assaulted and strangled her – in the presence of his two young children.

LONGMONT – Police are looking for a 37-year-old man who they say dragged his ex-wife into her home and violently assaulted and strangled her in the presence of his two young children.

The assault happened at approximately 5 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Bowen Street.

Police say Anthony Martin was at his ex-wife's home for a child exchange. The victim, 38, was seriously injured. She has since been released from the hospital and is recovering at an undisclosed location, according at Longmont Police.

Martin is wanted for felony menacing, second-degree kidnapping, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, child abuse and several other charges.

Police say he has ties to the Denver, Aurora and the Boulder area and was last seen driving a 1998 Mercedes four-door that is silver or white and has Colorado license plate 258-PUQ.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Longmont Police Department at 303-651-8501.

Police say he doesn't have any firearms but is unpredictable, and caution the public not to approach Martin.
