Patients sue Colorado doctor for alleged sexual assaults during ketamine therapy sessions

While already facing four felony charges for sexual contact, Mark Young has been hit with a lawsuit filed by two women who accuse him of sexual assault.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. — A doctor accused of touching and kissing his patients during ketamine treatments at his clinic is now facing a civil lawsuit on top of criminal charges in Garfield County.

In April, Mark Young was charged with four counts of criminal sexual contact. Investigators say five of his patients came forward and claimed he inappropriately touched them and kissed them at his clinic.

Two of the patients have filed a lawsuit alleging negligence and sexual assault.

“Defendant Young violated the personal boundaries of Plaintiffs while they were under the influence of the ketamine administered by him and while operating within the course and scope of his employment with Defendant Young Companies,” a lawsuit filed in Garfield County court reads.

The lawsuit was filed by two alleged victims named “Jane Doe #1” and “Jane Doe #2” and name Young as a defendant along with several names of his businesses, including Apex Ketamine Therapy. Allegations against Young include removing clothing, fondling and kissing which occurred between 2020 and 2023, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed by attorney Gregory Gold and describes one of the patients as disabled.

“Defendant Young kissed Plaintiff without her consent; Plaintiff is physically disabled and was unable to prevent Defendant Young from assaulting her,” the lawsuit reads.

The state’s medical board has suspended Young’s license while his criminal case moves through the judicial system. He is out on a $10,000 bond and is due back in court for an arraignment hearing in October.
