PARKER, Colorado — The Parker Police Department said on Tuesday they're looking for more potential victims of a man who was arrested in August and faces multiple charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
The suspect, 81-year-old Robert Roberts, is known to frequent areas with children such as parks, recreation centers and swimming pools, according to the Parker Police Department.
Investigators asked parents who believe their child might have had contact with Roberts or have information about crimes possibly committed by Roberts to email Detective Brukbacher or call 303-805-6523.
Earlier this year, the Parker Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit was made aware of a man who was uploading child sexual abuse material to a Bing Image search, according to police.
Investigators learned the IP address that uploaded the photos belonged to Comcast, police said. Police sent an administrative subpoena to Comcast to get more information about the address, according to the affidavit. Investigators learned that the IP address belonged to Roberts at the time.
A search warrant for Roberts' home was executed on Aug. 31, according to the affidavit. During a conversation with Roberts, he admitted to watching child pornography but said he "never hurt anyone," the affidavit says.
Roberts was arrested by police and taken to the Douglas County jail, police said. He faces charges of:
- Five counts of sexual exploitation of a child - possession with the intent to sell or publish
- Five counts of sexual exploitation of a child - possession
- One count of habitual sex offender against children
Roberts had a prior arrest in Aurora in 1982 and found guilty of three counts of sexual assault on a child, according to police.
