Family identifies couple killed in Northglenn shooting

Three people were injured and one other person was killed at the Halloween party.

NORTHGLENN, Colo. — A one-year-old girl will grow up without her parents after family members said both were killed at a Halloween party in Northglenn.

The shooting happened about a mile from Interstate 25 and 104th Avenue. Three people were hurt, three others died. Anjelica Pacheco identified her son Adan Pacheco and his girlfriend Lorraine Quintana as two of the victims.

"Together they were pushing each other to do right for each other," Pacheco said. "They just got their lives cut short and it just sucks that it has to be like this."

Pacheco described her son as ambitious, with a heart of gold. She said the 20-year-old had just finished basic training for the U.S. Army.

"He had a lot of goals and whatever he wanted to do in life he went for it," she explained. "Very loving man, very protective of his family, just so ambitious and I just want everyone to know him for the real him and not just what happened that night."

In the early hours on Nov. 1,  Northglenn Police were called to a home near Belford Drive and Bruce Lane. When they arrived they found multiple people shot at a large house party. Pacheco said the young couple went to the party after going trick-or-treating with their one-year-old daughter.

"She’s not going to know her parents," Pacheco added. "We’re going have to tell her stories as she grows up. Like know she looks at their pictures and she points at them and she’s wondering where are they."

"All she wanted was the family to be closer," Autumn Rose Quintana, Lorraine's sister said. "It's sad it took her death to bring us together."

Autumn Rose Quintana said her sister was kind and loved her family deeply. They bonded over make-up and trips to Elitch Gardens. Moments she wishes she didn't take for granted.

"I miss being around her and spending time with her," Quintana said as she fought back tears. "I loved her."

Northglenn Police said no arrests have been made. The lead investigator in the case said they are still taking statements from witnesses and piecing together what exactly happened that night.

Pacheco hopes there is an arrest in this case. While she knows it won't bring her son back, it may bring her the justice she's desperately searching for.

"God I wish I could have seen him when he was in the hospital before he passed," she cried.  "I just wish they would have let me hold him and rock him to sleep for the last time. When they took him they took a part of me and I will never be OK after this."

The Pacheco family and the Quintana family both created GoFundMe pages to help off-set some of the funeral costs.
