DENVER — Two men who were charged in a string of robberies last summer that included hits at a bank, a KFC and even an adult entertainment store have been sentenced to prison time, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.

The two other co-defendants named in the case have not yet faced a judge.

Alfredo Garcia, 39, took a plea deal on Monday and was sentenced for one count of robbery with four counts of habitual criminal (a sentence enhancer). He received 24 years in prison.

Angelito Arechiga, 22, pleaded guilty to one count of robbery back in February and has since been sentenced to five years in prison.

Prosecutors say Garcia and Arechiga helped rob the Community Banks of Colorado branch on West 32nd Avenue on May 23.

Garcia is also accused of robbing the Premier Insurance Group, trying to rob a KFC, a cricket store, a Pleasures store and a BBVA Compass Bank branch.

Celestino Mendoza, 28, and Louis Arechiga, 19, are also accused in some of the robberies but have not yet been convicted.
