Man wanted for assaulting elderly employee at Aurora laundromat

The suspect is accused of assaulting a lone woman working at the laundromat on May 21.

AURORA, Colo. — The Aurora Police Department (APD) is asking for the public's help in identifying a man accused of assaulting an elderly employee at a laundromat last month. 

Just before 9 p.m. on May 21, police said a man entered the Super Laundromat located at 12455 East Mississippi Avenue and assaulted an elderly woman who was working there alone. 

The suspect is described as Hispanic, 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a blue shirt with an unknown logo, blue jeans and black shoes.

Police said the suspect is facing a felony assault charge. It's unclear how severe the woman's injuries were. 

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call Investigator McDowell at 303-627-3205. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by contacting Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
