Man sentenced to 143 years for series of crimes in Aurora

AURORA, Colo. — A man has been sentenced to 143 years in prison for a series of shootings and other crimes in Aurora in 2022, prosecutors said. 

Eugene Robertson, 40, was found guilty in April of multiple charges, including eight counts of attempted murder, in connection with the series of crimes in October 2022. He was sentenced Friday. 

The crimes included threatening an employee at a Burger King, firing a gun at two people at a 7-Eleven and shooting at his neighbor's apartment when she refused to open the door.

Robertson was convicted on the following counts in April following a five-day trial:

  • Eight counts of attempted murder
  • Four counts of felony menacing
  • Illegal discharge of a firearm
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Illegal discharge of a firearm
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Harassment
  • Two counts of reckless endangerment
