AURORA, Colo. — A man pleaded guilty Tuesday in connection with a stabbing that killed a 33-year-old man in Aurora last year, according to court documents.
Norenty Ropon, 23, pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge in connection with the death of Haruna Bizabishaka Bonanee.
The Aurora Police Department said the stabbing happened July 13, 2023 on Alton Street between 16th and 17th avenues. Police said officers responded around 9:23 p.m. to a report of a man stabbing the victim during an argument. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
On Aug. 30, Ropon was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
