Victim killed in shooting in Denver identified

The shooting happened in the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard last month.

DENVER — The Denver Medical Examiner's Office on Thursday identified a man who was killed in a shooting in southwest Denver at the end of last month.

Luis Gomez-Reyes, 35, died from a gunshot wound, and the manner of death is homicide, the medical examiner's office said.

Denver Police posted at 7:22 a.m. Friday March 29 that officers were investigating the shooting in the 1600 block of South Federal Boulevard. 

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not release suspect information or any additional details surrounding the shooting.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
