FORT COLLINS, Colo. — A suspect has been arrested in connection with a gang-related shooting that killed one person the night of March 9, Fort Collins Police said.

Officers responded around 11:15 p.m. to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Mangold Lane for a report of someone being shot in an apartment. The victim died on the scene, police said. He has been identified as Andre Salas, 24, of Fort Collins.
About 30 minutes after officers responded, the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority sent out an alert warning people in the area to take shelter. At 4:33 a.m. an updated message said police were still in the area, but there was no longer a threat to the public.
Detectives believe the shooting was gang-related.
Police said March 11 that they identified the suspect as Adrian Pacheco, 31. He was wanted on a warrant for first-degree murder, police said.
Fort Collins police said Pacheco was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Pueblo.
