Suspect wanted in connection with Denver homicide

The shooting happened on South Federal Boulevard near the intersection with Alameda Avenue. Jason Perry was killed.

DENVER — No arrests have been made after a man was killed in a shooting on Tuesday, Aug. 8, the Denver Police Department said.

The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. on South Federal Boulevard near Cedar Avenue. The victim has been identified as Jason Perry, 46.

On Friday, Aug. 25, police said they had identified a possible suspect. Christopher Roel Hernandez, 28, is wanted by police in connection with this crime. 

Anyone with information about the homicide or Hernandez' whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or visit metrodenvercrimestoppers.com. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
