Police looking for man who fired shots into car in Wheat Ridge

The Wheat Ridge Police Department said it happened around 4:20 p.m. in the area of 44th Avenue and Youngfield Street.

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — Police are searching for the man who fired shots into another car in Wheat Ridge Tuesday afternoon.

The Wheat Ridge Police Department said it happened around 4:20 p.m. in the area of 44th Avenue and Youngfield Street. Police said it appears no one was shot, but the driver was injured by glass breaking into his car. He was able to drive to another location to call 911. He was not taken to the hospital, police said. 

Police said the suspect left the scene. They've asked neighboring law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for him. 

Police said around 6 p.m. that "This remains an active investigation into a possible road rage shooting."
