THORNTON, Colo. — A man who was found injured in a Thornton roadway over the weekend and later died may have fallen from the back of a truck, according to the Thornton Police Department.
On May 4 around 8:15 p.m., police and fire crews responded to the 8700 block of Washington Street for a report about an injured man in the road. The man was found just south of East 88th Avenue. The man died from his injuries.
Initially, police thought the man was the victim of a hit-and-run crash but investigators later learned that he may have fallen from the back of a truck.
A single witness, a person on a motorcycle, directed others to call 911 but left the area before any first responders arrived. Police are asking that witness to come forward to share what they saw.
They're asking for tips from anyone who may have seen the motorcyclist, the truck, or the actual incident to give them a call. The tip line is 720-977-5069.
