LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A man was shot and later died from injuries Monday night in Lakewood, according to a spokesperson for the Lakewood Police Department (LPD).
Someone called 911 just before 11 p.m. Monday to report that a person was suffering from a gunshot wound in the 8100 block of West 12th Avenue, near Ammons Street.
Officer located an man who had been shot near the entrance to his home. Family members had found the man outside and called 911.
He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries. LPD identified the victim as Robert Gene Steige, 64, of Lakewood.
At this time, there's no suspect information to share, however, a spokesperson for LPD said they don't think the public is in danger.
